We’ve Got the Cure

We’ve Got the Cure

DRINKING + DINING

January 22, 2019

From a mid-week slump, the winter blues, or too many holiday parties to count, we’ve uncovered five culinary cures to combat seasonal symptoms commonly experienced through the winter months.

WINTER BLUES
When your mood is falling fast, brighten your day with a visit to Botanist. Leave the fuss up to the pros with Executive Chef Hector Laguna’s ‘We’ll Take It From Here’ five-course tasting menu, fusing chef favourites with experiential creations, this ‘off-menu’ experience is sure to surprise and delight.

MID WEEK SLUMP
Kick Wednesday’s butt with a dose of energy found in the lineup of power bowls at giovane café + market + eatery. The smoked salmon bowl, rich in omega 3, combines quinoa, avocado, and eggs to give you the fuel you need to get through the week.

JETLAG
Recover from a long journey with a trip to Willow Stream Spa for an Energizing Detox body experience with a dry brush exfoliation to help increase circulation and lymphatic flow, followed by a wrap of marine algae for an instant nutrient-boost enabling the body to feel grounded and keep the blood flowing after a long period of sitting in the air. Unwind in one of the relaxation lounges over a ‘Revival’ Bento Box, full of nutrient-rich items like spinach gomae, yam tempura roll, and agedashi tofu.

WINTER HANGOVER
After a wild night out, there’s nothing better than nursing a hangover by lounging with the ultimate hair of the dog cure: breakfast in bed. Indulge and opt for the ‘West Coast’ breakfast of champions – eggs ‘your way,’ bacon, sausage, hash browns and an order of toast to soak up the last of those late night drinks.

VITAMIN D WITHDRAWAL
The winter months can be gruelingly dark with early sunsets and late sunrises, leaving your body craving some Vitamin D. Sushi, especially salmon and tuna, can be a great source of Vitamin D that your body needs. Try Chef Taka’s Omakase Long Table Sushi experience in The Lobby Lounge and RawBar complete with miso soup, oysters and a selection of Ocean Wise approved sushi, all served on a sustainably crafted driftwood long board.
