Each quarter, The Lobby Lounge will host an out-of-town performer who will reside at Fairmont Pacific Rim, garnering musical inspirations from the West Coast lifestyle, while performing sets throughout their time in Vancouver. Duane Forrest is a singer-songwriter and multimedia artist from Toronto, Canada. His unique sound blending jazz, reggae, bossa nova, and soul and smooth vocals draws on his experiences travelling the world, falling in love, and finding wonder in the joys and sorrows of a common human experience. He has toured in Canada, Europe, and Central America.

Toronto, Canada
What style of music do you play?
Jazz, reggae and beach fusion
What instruments do you play?
Guitar and drums
How long have you been practicing your craft?
As long as I’ve been growing my hair, about 15 years
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I play semi-pro basketball and I’m an avid gamer
Who is your favourite musician? What would be the first thing you would say if you met them in an elevator?
Jack Johnson, though we already met, I told him he was the reason why I’m doing this
What’s the last thing you do before you go on stage?
Pray and give thanks that I can do this thing I love so regularly

What did you wear to your prom?
A clean 3 piece café suit with a green tie
What’s your favourite country to visit?
Italy, of course
