This Easter weekend, Chef Hector Laguna and his culinary team have a trio of carvery stations including prime rib, roast ham and turkey breast, as well as Botanist favourites such as the traditional Eggs Benedict and the Chickpea Pannise. The Stanley Park Easter train is taking place from April 18 to 22 10:00am to 5:00pm. Hop on the train for an egg-citing ride through the forest. Other activities include the bunny burrow maze, scavenger hunt, professional face painting, carnival games, and a meet and greet with the Easter Bunny himself. Children are encouraged to bring a basket or something to collect their eggs in, and parents are advised to buy tickets in advance as the rides often sell out. Tickets for the train ride are $6.30 plus GST per person. You can also purchase the Easter package for $14.70, that includes the train ride, scavenger hunt, some various fun games and activities.
As Vancouverites pack up their winter jackets, they are rewarded with one of the city’s best sites: 40,000 cherry blossom trees bursting with pink and white blooms. Tourism Vancouver has put together a list of the best places to view the cherry blossoms in Vancouver, including Queen Elizabeth Park, Stanley Park, and VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Starting Friday, April 19, visitors to the Vancouver Aquarium will be able to take part in an eggs-tradordinary Easter scavenger hunt. During the hunt, visitors will learn curious facts about aquatic creatures and their eggs. The aquarium will also be offering various programs throughout the weekend, such as getting up close with a Red-footed tortoise or an African penguin and kid-friendly puppet shows for some story time. The scavenger hunt and the 4-D theatre experience are included with the admission. Make sure to purchase your tickets in advance as the spaces are limited and can often sell-out.

Looking to burn off those Easter treats? The 4th annual Big Bunny Run is back on April 20th, 2019 from 11:30am – 4:30pm. Taking place at Jericho Beach, the holiday themed run offers a 10km and 5km run/walk at 2:00pm as well as a 1km and 3km Little Bunny run/walk. Leashed dogs and strollers are welcome. Taking place every Saturday morning at 11:00am, Cineplex theatres presents Family Favourites. On April 20, 2019 they will be showing the 2011 animated film Hop, about an Easter Bunny who escapes to Hollywood to find fame and fortune. Show tickets are $2.99 per person at select theatres. Each year the Vancouver Chapter of the Vintage Car Club of Canada holds a car rally to showcase beautiful antiques and other classic vehicles. This year the rally will take place at Trev Deeley on Boundary Road. Car enthusiasts will enjoy everything from antique Fords to Corvettes, Firebirds and vintage collectables. Vehicles typically arrive between 10 am – noon and around 1pm, over 90 vintage cars will gather before heading out on a mystery drive to a yet to be determined location.
