Beginning on Friday, February 12, 2021 we say goodbye to the Year of the Rat and hello to the Year of the Ox. Lunar New Year, marked by the first new moon of the lunisolar calendars traditional to many east Asian countries, is a 15-day celebration that takes place all over the world. At Fairmont Pacific Rim, we are celebrating with a limited-time Afternoon Tea, specialty Dim Sum menus, exclusive O5 Rare Tea cocktails, exhibits and more! Below is a breakdown of all the exciting Lunar New Year activities and experiences happening at the hotel.
The Lobby Lounge & RawBar
The Lobby Lounge will be featuring a special Dim Sum inspired menu served daily February 12 – March 15 from 10:00am – 4:00pm. Enjoy steamed, baked, fried and sweet inspirations like Black Truffle Shao Mai, Wild Forest Mushroom Dumpling, Fried Turnip Cake Fritters, and Matcha Black Sesame Flowing Pear. Reservations can be booked via Tock.
There will also be a limited-time Afternoon Tea available by appointment only from 11:00am – 4:00pm. There is a limit of 6 people, and the specialty tea experience is $62 per person. Please note, 48 hours notice is required. Enjoy a selection of sweet and savoury items including a Poached Dungeness Crab with citrus crème fraîche sandwich, Black Pepper Beef Puff Pastry Turnover, and a Wild Mushroom Rice Paper Roll alongside afternoon tea pastries, warm oven baked fragrant Chinese Black Tea and classic English scones. The Lobby Lounge will also be releasing a feature Lunar New Year cocktail menu on February 12 that includes a Hibiscus Sour and GT Old Fashioned using tea from O5 Rare Tea. View the menu here.
Exhibit & Installations
Westbank is hosting an Exhibit and feature for Lunar New Year, held at Fairmont Pacific Rim
– The exhibit is running from Feb 12 – March 15 from 10:00am – 5:00pm and will be on the 2nd floor of the hotel.
– There will be special Lunar New Year themed installations around the hotel including a photo booth, floral mannequin, porcelain display and more!
