Kenneth Chan, writer for the Daily Hive, recently wrote a feature article on Fairmont Pacific Rim’s very own revolving Bike Carousel, the first of its kind, that launched this summer. Westbank, a local developer and owner of the building, initially put the idea forth to create something that would be less of a “galvanized steel eyesore,” which led to the installation of the new carousel. The launch of the Bike Carousel also coincided with Fairmont Pacific Rim’s new fleet of BMW E-cruise bicycles. The BMW bicycles are offered to hotel guests as a complimentary amenity year round.
A new bicycle rack installed at the main entrance of the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel in downtown Vancouver is no ordinary stationary bicycle rack.
Perched on top of the existing reflecting pool, it is a custom-designed fixture – a continuously spinning carousel, unless someone stops it to retrieve a bicycle to use, of course.
