Winner of Best New Talent at the International Portuguese Music Awards (2017), MTV Cover of the Month February and voted Best Musician in the South Okanagan by Okanagan Life Magazine (2015), Nikita’s music speaks to the heart and touches the soul. It has a familiarity that resonates within one’s self. The folky melodies and honest lyrics mixed with breathy yet strong vocals captivates audiences from the vibrant young to the charming old.

Where are you from?

Penticton, BC

What style of music do you play?

Country/Pop

What instruments do you play?

Guitar and voice

How did you discover your passion and talent for music?

When I was four years old, my daycare held a talent show. I performed My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion and no one could get me to stop singing since.

How long you have been practising your craft?

I have been performing my whole life- from dance to musical theatre, however, my real love is performing country/pop music. I’ve been lucky enough to be doing what I love for seven years now.

Favourite song to play? Favourite song to listen to?

There really are too many songs to choose from! I would have to say that a couple of my all time favourite songs to play are A Case of You by Joni Mitchell and Angel by Jack Johnson.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I am terrified of singing karaoke.

On your day off we would find you…

Hanging out by the river, bowling, writing, hiking, and/or catching up with family and friends.

Number one must-do thing in Vancouver?

Fly Over Canada is great! You get to sit back and see what our beautiful country has to offer!

What karaoke song could you sing where you don’t need the monitor?

IF someone were able to talk me into singing a karaoke song, it would be Jolene by Dolly Parton.

It’s 4am on a Saturday night, what would you eat?

Rainbow chocolate chip cookies, of course.
